Position - Career Medical Officer

A position is currently available at Forster Private Hospital, for a NSW Registered Career Medical Officer to support VMO’s to deliver a wide range of medical and surgical health care including:

Surgical Assistant in the Operating Theatre with regular lists in Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Gynaecology and Ophthalmology
Review and provide medical care to patients in High Dependency Unit and hospital wards.
Participate in daily ward rounds with Specialist Physicians and Surgeons.
Participate in Ward Rounds with Rehabilitation Physician.
Participate in a seven day roster including out of hours on-call.

Forster Private Hospital is a 75 bed Acute Care and Rehabilitation Hospital situated at Forster/Tuncurry on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. Forster is a favoured destination of the NSW Holiday Coast and is only 350 kms north of Sydney. It is one of the most rapidly growing areas in NSW with an average annual growth rate of 5%.

Forster Private Hospital is the only acute hospital in the area with Manning Base Hospital 38 kms away. The Hospital provides predominantly Medical/ Surgical and Rehabilitation services, on an inpatient and day procedure basis. There are two well equipped Operating Theatres, High Dependency Unit and an adjacent Day Surgery Unit. A full range of diagnostic services are available locally including, Ultrasound, CT scan, Pathology, and Stress Testing. Visiting Medical staff include: Specialist Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Physicians, Psychiatrist, Rehabilitation Physician, General Practitioners and Allied Health Professionals.

Permanent Full Time, Salary: $110,000 - $120,000
