    CMO - Emergency Medicine
    Applications are invited for the position of CMO-Emergency Department at the Broken Hill Health Service.

    The Broken Hill Hospital and Health Service is centred in a new acute facility of 88 beds that services a wide area encompassing a population of 25,000 people. Broken Hill is the centre of the Far West NSW outback and is 500km north east of Adelaide and 1,100 km west of Sydney. It is the base of the Royal Flying Doctor Service, South East Division.
    The hospital has general medical, surgical, obstetric, paediatric, psychiatric and special care beds, as well as theatre, palliative care, intensive and coronary care units. Support services include specialist clinics, supported by VMO specialist staff, radiology and pathology departments, as well as occupational & physiotherapists. The hospital has a modern well-equipped 24-hour Emergency Department, which sees 24,000 annual attendances.

    Medical staff participate in a rotating shift roster, including some night and weekend work. This will allow you the time to enjoy the many attractions and interesting sights that Broken Hill can offer. There is an option of accessing furnished housing on the Health Service campus. There are daily flights from Broken Hill to major capital cities.
